Our sense of smell
is responsible for a large percent of our experience
of taste. By overloading our sense of smell through
inhaling the culinary oils such as Dill Weed, Ginger,
or Cumin Seed; or other taste-resembling essences like
Lemon, Vanilla, or Spearmint, we can suppress our desire
to taste, and thereby, to EAT. Try it for yourself.
When you feel hungry and prefer not to indulge, choose
one of the oils and put it to your nose for several
minutes, at least 5 sniffs per nostril. Feel your taste
buds actually being filled, and your desire for food
being satisfied. This can be done as many times per
day as needed and as often as possible. Change scents
daily so as not to get overloaded on one scent. Make
sure to smell the oil for at least 5 sniffs per nostrils.
If only whiffed briefly, culinary oils in particular
can have the reverse effect of stimulating the appetite
(as the are intended to do in cooking)
